Jamshedpur- The first planned Industrial city of India!

Jamshedpur, also known as the steel city of India is one of the first planned Industrial city of India. Jamshedpur is also the headquarters of the East Singhbhum district of state Jharkhand. Jamshedpur is referred as the Industrial capital of Jharkhand. The most famous name by which jamshedpur is known is "TATANAGAR". Jamshedpur is referred as Tatanagar because of the presence of multiple Tata companies in the city. Also, the railway station is named as Tatanagar. Few other names by which jamshedpur is often described are green-ciy, clean-city, steel-city, etc. These names are not just a madeup name, these names have very authentic significance too. Jamshedpur is one of cleanest and greenest city in India. Jamshedpur got its name after the founder of TATA Jamshetji tata. Whose birthday 3rd march is celebrated throughout the city every year as Founders day.

1. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary

Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is located 10 kms from the city of Jamshedpur. It was inaugurated by Sanjay Gandhi in the year 1975. It contains significant population of Indian Elephants. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is situated around the Dalma Hills. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is a much larger area starting from Chandil to 40 km east. This sanctuary is spread a over 195 kms. It is about 100 km. from the capital city Ranchi, and 15 km. from the steel city Jamshedpur. This sanctuary attracts various types of people including city dwellers, students to nature lovers. The wildlife sanctuary runs parallel to the NH-33 with majestic hills as high as 915 ft. from sea level. The forests of Dalma comes under the category "Dry peninsular Sal" and "Northern Dry Mixed Deciduous Forest". Most part of Dalma forests shed leaves in the summer and attains its full bloom at the onset of monsoon.


2. Jubilee park

Jubilee Park is a popular destination for all those who wish to have an outdoor picnic, enjoy some outdoor activities and games or even just to have a relaxing day out with friends and family. Popular amongst joggers and cyclists, it is a gigantic park, recreation centre, fountains and a zoo, amongst other attractions. This local attraction is a must visit on all tourist's lists. It was opened in 1958, on the occasion of the city's golden jubilee, the 50th anniversary of establishment. This park was originally a gift, to the town of Tatanagar from the Tata Steel Company. On 3rd March i.e the birthday of Shri Jamsetji Tata, this park is decorated with amazing lights and light show is also showcased in the beautiful fountains in the park.


3. Tata Steel Zoological Park

Tata Steel Zoological Park is located near the Jubilee Park. It is located besides a beautiful lake which gives a wonderful view during sunset. Tourists can also enjoy boating in this lake. The zoo consists of various animal species including rare species like White Tiger, etc. This zoo is known for its Safari Park, which enables tourists to drive through the wooden area, where animals roam freely. Tourists can also visit the Nature Education Centre in the zoo, which gives information about the zoo animals.


4. P&M Hi-Tech City Centre Mall

P&M Hi-Tech City Centre Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in eastern India. It has a Gross Lease-able Area of 550,000 sq ft after South City mall Kolkata (650,000 sq ft).
