Student unrest is prevalent in all parts of the world today. Students no longer believe that university is the place where they should acquire knowledge. They have no trust in religious authority or the traditional code of conduct. There is always a big gap between what the authorities profess and what they actually do. Hence the wrath of students, political parties, too, mislead students for their selfish ends. Students consider themselves fully matured. They lack the required ability to assimilate high learning. The University Grants Commission has suggested association of the students in the management of universities. Present trends have to undergo a change to check the student unrest.

Only when the educated classes have learnt to identify themselves with the masses, will the present atmosphere in the country improve. Student unrest would also disappear if the present uncertainty regarding an educated young man's prospects in life is ended by making developments more employment orientated.
