The shoot of the much awaited and much speculated film Student Of The Year 2 is all set to begin on Monday according producer Karan Johar who also says that the original 2012 Student Of The Year will always be special to him.

Karan Johar wrote through an emotional post that as he walked into the old Dharma Productions office at Bandra and he felt all nostalgic about the times in this solid space and this is where he saw The three sparkling students( the pictures of Varun , Siddharth and Alia ) and while the new ones are going on set tomorrow! SOTY will always be special to me…is what Karan Johar tweeted on Sunday.

He shared the photograph also in which a wall at old Dharma Production is seen adorned by posters of the three actors -- Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra and to all these three he gave a huge and blockbuster launchpad in Bollywood with his film.

The sequel to the original, “Student Of The Year 2" will be directed by Punit Malhotra and will star Tiger Shroff , the shoot will reportedly begin in Dehradun. There are speculations about Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Pandey also starring in the film but no confirmation as yet. However Samir Soni, who made his directorial debut this year with My Birthday Song, is now all set to return to acting with SOTY 2. The actor who was seen in an important role in director Punit Malhotra’s film I Hate Luv Stories , starring Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles, is reuniting with the director for Student Of The Year 2 (SOTY2). According to reports Samir has been roped in to play the college principal similar to the role that was essayed by Rishi Kapoor in the first part. 

According to Samir Soni SOTY 2 is a fresh story, Rishi Kapoor did a fabulous job in the first part and just like people remember him I am also nervous and excited to step into his shoes though it is not the same character I am definitely looking forward to the challenge.
And what audiences are looking forward is the same kind of entertainment that SOTY gave us in 2012. So all the best to the entire crew and cast of SOTY 2 !!
